Located just ten minutes from downtown San Diego, North Park is a hip and eclectic neighborhood. There are craft beer bars, music venues, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, and nightlife in this highly walkable district. North Park Landscape
Located in the northeast corner of San Diego, North Park is bordered by Park Boulevard and University Heights. To the northwest, Florida Canyon and Hillcrest to the west, Balboa Park to the southwest, and South Park and Switzer Canyon on the south end.
North Park is primarily residential, with single-family homes set on well-landscaped properties. While hiking with your dog, you won’t have to climb steep hills. Several commercial and residential streets in the neighborhood have sidewalks, so you and your dog won’t have to share the road with others.
The natural area extends into North Park through Switzer Canyon and Juniper Canyon on the south side. Pedestrian paths run along the main streets that cross the freeway east of the neighborhood.
North Park Neighborhood
As its name implies, North Park is home to a greenway. North Park Community Park offers a playground, sports fields, paved walking paths, open spaces, and trees.
Locals and their pets can enjoy many sights and attractions in Balboa Park, a 1,200-acre park southwest of North Park. Near North Park, on the northeast corner of Balboa, is the Morley Dog Park. Owners of dogs are required to supervise their dogs at all times. Your dog can stay hydrated at water fountains located at the dog park. The dog park is connected to the zoo and museums, as well as to some gardens and historical sites in Balboa Park, but some of these attractions aren’t accessible to dogs. Furry friends are even welcome at an outdoor eatery located along the trail.
